Do we have a dramatic find?
There is a lot of archaeological work being done in the City of David. Everyday day there are new finds and new remnants are uncovered. However, not all of the findings, yet, are fully understood.
In this video, we are exposed to some amazing finds, that archaeologists are still trying to figure them out. It is assumed that these findings are from the time of King David. These may be related to King David’s private worship altar and the place where he kept the Arc of the Covenant, before the temple was built.
300 years later, King Hezekiah destroyed all altars (Kings II ch:18-4) in the Kingdom and the Holy Temple became the only place of worship.
The archaeologists assume that King Hezekiah did not want to destroy King David’s private altar, and, therefore, decided to cover it up.
A surprising find or food for thought…?
I’d like to thank The Watchman for these two videos.
