CHAG SHAVUOT (Pentecost) SAMEACH – Happy Shavuot Holiday

Shavuot is one of the three feasts in which the Jews used to come as pilgrims to Jerusalem to the Holy Temple, until 70 AD , before the destruction of the Holy Temple by the Romans. Every time they came to the Holy Temple, they entered through the main entrance, known as the Southern Wall and the steps of ‘Hulda’. So today, our video talks about this entrance to the Holy Temple through the Southern Wall and also about the nearby market situated at the corner between the Southern and Western walls close to the Robinson Arch, most probably the 1st intersection in the world.

It is amazing to be able to see nowadays the remnants of the walls that surrounded and supported the Holy Temple area (currently Dome of the Rock). These walls were built by Herod in 18 DCE - that means 2034 years ago! Just imagine being able to see the remnants of these walls that despite the destruction of the Romans are still standing today.

This is of course one of the sites that we will visit with the Group Tour in Feb 2017. Lookout for more details around this tour soon to be published.

I wish you all a Happy Shavuot Feast.
